Description: An online payment solution for hotel guests looking to book and pay for their stay online. Online payment is achieved through the use of a virtual POS terminal. All major credit/debit cards are accepted, including Visa, Visa Electron, MasterCard and Maestro.
Features: Booking module: room prices are based on days of stay, room type, number of adults and/or children and most importantly the period of the reservation. Predefined (hardcoded) are 5 distinct seasonal periods with different durations. Room pricing differs for each seasonal period. Example: a reservation for a single room in mid July costs more than a reservation for the same room at the end of September. Website visitors choose the days of stay using a graphical calendar and pricing is automatically calculated, taking into account if the chosen days of stay span across multiple predefined seasonal periods, is an all-inclusive package chosen, etc. All this takes place in step 1 of a four tier booking process.
Step 2 is for confirmation on part of the website visitor. He or she is presented with the price due, the period of stay chosen in step 1, any promotional discounts and the visitors personal details also given in step 1 (names, email, etc.) If the visitor confirms and chooses to advance in the booking process, he or she arrives at step 3 which is where payment is made.
Step 3 asks the visitor for their credit/debit card details (expiry date, credit/debit card number, CVV2, etc.) In actuality, after advancing from step 2, the visitor is seamlessly transferred to the VPOS operator website where he or she enters their card details. After submitting the payment, the VPOS operator website processes the payment and returns the website visitor to the Mimosa Hotel website at step 4.
Step 4 gives information to the website visitor if their payment was successful. If this is the case, he or she is given a unique reservation code which may be used to track the reservation. If for some reason the payment operation is unsuccessful the website visitor is notified.

Additional periods module: administration staff need to have the ability to stop sales whenever they decide to do so. Additional periods are in no way connected to the predefined seasonal periods, and only have effect over room availability. Example: administration staff can define 5 available single rooms for online sale for the first week of June, 2 double rooms for the same period, 3 single rooms for the first weekend after the first week of June, etc, and no availability of double rooms for the first Saturday of the same weekend. This module provides for fine grain control over room availability. After successful payment, the room availability for the period or periods associated with the reservation is updated. If availability drops to zero, the visitor using the frontend to book online is notified and cannot move forward in the reservation process. Administration staff can increase availability at any one time through the use of drop down menus associated with each user defined (additional) period.
Bookings listing: administration staff have the opportunity to track reservations made online. All reservations are listed, wheather successful or not. Data available includes days of stay, visitor's name, email address, price paid, initial date of reservation.
